Ecological Platform

Environment & Resources

Protecting public ecosystems and resolving seasonal hazards through democratic resource management.

Water Resources & Watershed Conservation

Water is a collective life resource, not a corporate commodity. We oppose the privatization of drinking water supplies and municipal sewage management. Our campaign focuses on funding public watershed programs to harvest rainwater and recharge local aquifers.

We demand strict caps on groundwater extraction by heavy manufacturing units and commercial beverage packers in water-stressed blocks.

Flood and Drought Mitigation

Seasonal flood and drought cycles destroy lives and crops every year in India. We propose shifting from simple relief packages to long-term preventive engineering. This includes the desilting of rivers, restoration of natural floodplains, and decentralized canal systems built via local community watchdogs.

Local crop patterns should be aligned with regional water availability, supporting low-water indigenous crops through state subsidies to prevent groundwater collapse.

Forest Rights & Community Sovereignty

Forests must be protected from commercial mining and timber concessions. We stand for the complete implementation of the Forest Rights Act, granting local assemblies (Gram Sabhas) sole veto power over developmental and extraction leases on their historical lands.

Cooperative forestry models must be established, allowing forest dwellers to manage, process, and sell minor forest produce directly, cutting out middlemen.

Core Pledges

  • Gram Sabha veto rights on corporate leases.
  • Banning municipal water supply privatization.
  • Funding river desilting and floodplain restoration.
  • Penal sanctions on chemical industrial pollution.
Local Conservation

Our environmental committees run voluntary desilting projects. If you would like to run water audits in your region, get involved.
